I have seen Stourbridge a few times and have come away each time wondering what happened to the free flowing hard chasing side that made last season's play off's,yesterday however was a real nadir in the fall from what they were,I had chosen the match mainly to see for the first time Blyth Spartans one of the great names of non league football and they didn't disappoint.
Despite missing a penalty in a way more suited to the Stourton home of Stourbridge Rugby Club a couple of miles down the road Blyth totally dominated the game and were a joy to watch, the Bale style free kick for the first goalwas a joy but the highlight was the instant control and 50 yard crossfield ball by Blyth captain Robert Dale to set up the third goal.
Hopefully this is the low point of Stourbridge's season and they will soon start giving the vociferous and friendly fans something to cheer about
