A second successive week at Step 7 this time in the West Midlands League Div 1 and a first visit to the Handrahan Stadium (amazing as its 5 minutes from my front door).
Anyhow a thoroughly entertaining game of football that did Step 7 proud but Wrens Nest must be wondering how its the visitors going away with the points,Wrens Nest dominated from the start and his the woodwork twice early on before taking the lead in the first half and continued to create and miss a number of chances. Bartestree came out fighting in the second half and you realised fortune might be shining on them when they hit the woodwork and unlike in the first half it fell to one of their forwards who buried it in the back of the net.A purple patch followed when they scored 3 more in quick succession although there were loud appeals for offside on one and unless the rules have changed since I hung up my whistle shouting leave it without a name is still an indirect free kick not the goal that was given, not the only very iffy decision the officials made as they corporately had a very poor second half.
